Question 1

What grading system does India use?

Accepted Answer

India uses the Indian 10-point CGPA scale. The UGC Choice Based Credit System defines SGPA as Σ(Ci × Gi) ÷ ΣCi and CGPA as Σ(Ci × Si) ÷ ΣCi, both rounded to two decimals. There is no single national CGPA-to-percentage formula: IIT Roorkee uses CGPA × 10, many universities use CGPA × 9.5, and NIT Andhra Pradesh uses (CGPA − 0.5) × 10. Always use your own university's multiplier.
